I just used crayola’s washable kids paint, it says its nontoxic, so I went with it. It looks like this one – https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&ai=DChcSEwjKpszIuuTPAhWOW4YKHUhvCB0YABAQ&sig=AOD64_2tqJ8LRxFkAN9XPvqHgkvo7RiAzA&adurl=&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjOwMrIuuTPAhXMmR4KHWU1Cq4QwjwIQQ

I first wanted to use sticky felt but that didn’t stay on.

The paint just gets hard once it dries so I combed it out first and then washed it off her coat. I’m not sure how it would be for other dogs and their coats but it didn’t really stain my dog’s, but then again I wouldn’t have really noticed if it did since she has darker fur color.
